Hi. At our very first party (July 2012), we put up a bunch of big sheets of paper in the community centre and asked people to write down their comments / ideas / thoughts on various aspects of Hammond. You can look at the original <a href="http://www.hammondneighbours.ca/todo/" rel="nofollow">"Idea Boards" sheets</a>. We were hoping that people would "get involved" by taking on specific projects (either from the idea boards or from their own ideas). That hasn't really happened, so I haven't kept that section of the website very up-to-date.

I hope that answers your question!

Hi Rory. I totally understand that you don't want to have a Facebook account. (I wish I had the luxury of abstaining.) :) Our Facebook group is set to be as open as possible, but I know that full group posts and conversations can only be displayed to people who are logged in to Facebook. I think that when you have seen Facebook content without logging into Facebook, you are looking at a Facebook "page" rather than a Facebook "group". (Facebook pages can be displayed without logging in, but they don't have as much functionality as Facebook groups.) I wish I could help with this. In all honestly, I'm already doing a bit of dodgy stuff to be able to even show the Facebook group post summaries on our website. Sorry!

Hi Hammond Neighbours,
Just noticed if I click on comments in left sidebar, the facebook site requires me to log in to view them. I prefer to not be signed up to facebook. I have friends with facebook sites I view occasionally and they do not require a log in to view. Is it necessary to keep the facebook site private or could be be opened up so folks like myself can read postings without having to succumb to facebook membership?

thanks,
Rory

Hi James. I have a solar thermal business here in Maple Ridge and have recently chatted with a lower mainland solar pv company to offer a package for those wishing to use solar for their net zero projects. If you are finding a good response to this idea and wished to speak more about solar in general, I will be most happy to be at your service for information. I am aware of the Hammond net zero roof that Oasis is/was working on as I was asked to install the line-set for the solar there.

Best regards,
Paul Sim, Sun Bright Solar.

So very, very sad :(
I just wish that I could understand WHY, people are still being killed on those tracks? We have the train whistles, the barriers and the flashing lights with loud bells, let alone the trains which are not exactly quiet machines.... and STILL this happens!
However there is one train whose engineers need training on HOW LONG, they should sound the whistles! The West Coast Express sounds it's whistles from one town to the next! And that, in my mind IS unnecessary!
